Al Maaref University Sponsors "Nouwat" Media and Art Festival
The annual festival of "Nouwat", a Lebanese Association for supporting Fine Arts and Media production, concluded its activities on Saturday evening 28/10/2017 at the "Resalat" theater - the cultural center of Al-Ghubairi Municipality. The festival involved the appreciation of best work of the year in producing films, video clips, features, short stories, fine arts and visual arts and research papers. More than 400 works were presented this year (2017) in the festival which had attracted students, directors, artists, educationist, owners organizations and institutions and others of the interested public personnel.
“Nouwat”, a youth initiative that attracted a wide range of creative young people, has already completed its fifth year of operation and has been as a spearheaded association focused on the refinement and development of those outlets that express the creative skills of the young people.
The “Nouwat” Award is a catalyst for young people to turn their ideas into projects that are valued and nurtured. In addition to the certificates and shields, the winners of the Nouwat Award would receive opportunities to connect them with supportive organizations that contribute to the publication of their projects as well as to facilitate their participation in local and international festivals and exhibitions.
At the closing ceremony of the “Nouwat” Award for Creative Ideas, sponsoring institutions and companies as well as key individuals were honored. They contributed to the development of the Nuwat project by being influential in helping young people on their distinguishable talents and enhance their potential.
Al Maaref University was the "university partner" sponsor of the festival. It did not only participate in the Nuwat’s specialized Arbitration Committee, for selecting the candidates to be awarded but also sourced ten MU students from the field of Public Relations and Media to assist in organizing the closing ceremony.
The Al Maaref University was represented by Dr Ali Takach, the Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication and Fine Arts. Important to mention that Nouwat, in collaboration with Al Maaref University, launched a new award, the Digital Media Award, for the first time this year.
